Freezer Bunny plushies posing in front of a Christmas tree at the Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis in Utrecht.

Long story short, my December has been absolute hell. There is no other way to describe it. Our youngest son Levi ended up in the hospital, was moved to another hospital an hour away from home, and if that wasn’t enough already, he ended up on the ICU.

Everything happened so fast, I only had time to pack some underwear for him and hubby, and just in case I packed my meds and my toothbrush. Because I didn’t know what time I’d be home (to be with our other two kids). Before I knew it, I was staying overnight in another city, another province. I’m really grateful I could stay at the Ronald McDonald house, I don’t regret making this choice. But I came absolutely unprepared.

I’m really grateful my in-laws visited us the next day with the other kids, and some necessities like clothes, but also some sewing supplies. A while back I promised I’d sew Levi a Freezer Bunny. I had been meaning to do the same for Seth. Quinn already had one, as I took my sweet time sewing him one during the pregnancy.

Whilst Levi was in the ICU, I made him his bunny, and shortly after I also made Seth his.

Before the bunnies all went home with their respective owners, I had to take a few photos of the bunnies near the Christmas tree around the hospital. As a memory, and because it looks cute.
